EVA I’m glad you asked on your own accord, My chiitsu! Panel 3 Eva holds up a bunch of pop-up holo screens and holo items EVA The hypernet is a transdimensional network. It works as a bridge between all the multiple realities and dimensions. It allows things from throughout the omniverse to be shared and materialized. There's only a handful of specialized biomechas that can fully utilize it. Basically if we can think it, we can materialize it! Panel 4 Chiitsu looking completely floored CHIITSU Biomecha?! I know my siblings are geniuses, but there’s no way they could have created all of this by themselves. Panel 5 Eva is smiling, and Kaede stands close by looking amazed while playing with neko-chan. EVA They might have built my core personality and emotional drive, but I’m pretty sure they stole me from my base unit from my father, Professor Diaz of Utherworld Research and Development! Panel 1 Eva puts a badge over Kaede’s head. EVA And here’s your employee badge. KAEDE Ohh~ So shiny! Panel 2 Kaede holds neko-chan in the air with her robot hands all excited KAEDE Alright, Neko-chan. now that I work here, we’ll blast my music and become the best of friends! Panel 3 Chii looks shocked. Eva looks confused CHIITSU Wait, you’re a synth? EVA What? She’s a synthesizer?! Panel 4 Kaede laughs KAEDE HAHAHA! Not that kinda of synth. I’m a synthetic human - we’re like androids that can think for ourselves and feel actual emotions. I guess we’re kinda like real-life reploids. Lol! And Chiitsu, you didn’t know ‘cuz you never ask anyone about themselves, you just complain to everyone! Panel 5 Chiitsu looks all unhappy CHIITSU SIGH, Why can’t I ever meet any normal girls here? Panel 1 kaede is looking up at Eva. Neko is on kaede’s shoulder. EVA Y’know something just kinda hit me. But uh, Veltar City doesn’t seem like a very normal city. KAEDE I guess you’re new to town. Huh, Miss Eva? Panel 2 Eva smiles nervously while rubbing the back of her head. Kaede is giving her a thumbs up. EVA Yeah, something like that… KAEDE That’s ok! I’ll give you the rundown of the place. Panel 3 Its a huge wide-shot of the city. Think like a 2.5d city view like from final fight, maybe? There’s a little floating Kaede head with neko chan on her head. KAEDE So, where to start… Veltar City is a very unique place. It’s probably the only city owned and maintained by a scientific R&D corp. As such, we have lots of high tech embedded in a very low to mid-class mindset. We have mechas to do cleaning and repairing, we have super space-age advanced technology for stuff like holograms, high-tech communication devices. Then you have synths like me. We synths even have our own neighborhood called Apex Heights, where most of us live. Even though some like the thrill of living with humans, so you’ll see them slumming it up with fleshbags… uh, I mean “normal people”. from time to time. Footnote: The city doesn't actually float. This is just for Demonstrative purposes. Panel 4 Eva holding her hand to her chin ina thinking expression. EVA This kinda sounds like the city is basically this corporation’s private living experiment. I bet a lot of crazy stuff happens around here. KAEDE And no one even bats an eye. Panel 5 Chiitsu yelling the girls look sad. CHIITSU That’s enough chit-chatting. If I’m going to have to pay you two, you need to go do some work. I dunno; go dust or organize something! THE GIRLS Okay… 🙁
